Stanislas Square

It is our precious jewel. We, the inhabitants of Nancy, fondly call it “Place Stan” and we love to say that it is the most beautiful square in the world. There we meet up with our cherished ones for a drink, to celebrate La Saint-Nicolas or to admire the amazing summer light and sound show “Rendez-Vous Place Stanislas”. It was inaugurated in 1755 by Stanislas Leszczinski, King of Poland afterwards exiled and who had become Duke of Lorraine, in honor of his son-in-law Louis XV. And in 1983 it joined the UNESCO’s World Heritage list.
TGV Train Station

Indeed, you can come by High Speed Train to Nancy's city centre: Paris is only 1h20 away for the shortest trips. Nancy's train station must not be mistaken with the Lorraine TGV train station, which is located in the countryside and where the Roissy Charles De Gaulle Airport is only 1h15 away. However shuttles are available so as to connect the two train stations.
Prouvé Congress Centre

Museum of Fine Arts

Carrière Square

Enclosed by the Héré Arch at one of its extremities and by the Governor's Palace at the other end, the Carrière Square is a direct extension of Stanislas Square, opening the way to the old town. Formerly being the theater of games and tournaments, it is now the scene of another form of competition: The 24 Hours of Stan ', a crazy chariot race between the engineering students of Nancy’s universities taking place every two years. In a more serious point, in September it is there that takes place the first literature exhibition of the fall: Le Livre sur la place.
